Week 19: 33 Weeks Left!!

I haven't stuck to something this long EVER!  I know I've cheated a couple of weeks, but for the most part I've been a pretty good girl!

This week I took part in The Makers' Market
at the James St. North Art Crawl.

I wanted to take pictures, but again I can't find the charger for my good camera and was too ashamed to pull out my crappy one with all the cool people around...hahaha
The most awesome thing I saw was a Canadian artist by the name of Corinne Duchesne
She works on Mylar and her paintings are breath taking and inspiring...you should check out her website!

This week I continued on with my vintage fabric inspired 6x6 inch painted canvases.
I forget who guessed what I'll be doing with them when all is said and done, but for those of you who don't know I will be connecting all panels into one larger quilt piece...it should be pretty neat...I hope
I only finished 2 this week, the third was too frustrating and it's getting too late...

I'm sorry for the quality of the pictures, it's the best I can do...
I put together some of the panels I've finished so far and I pretty damned pleased with myself.
hope you like it too

Until next week...

Week 18: Can't Get it Together

This week turned out ok, but I still can't find my camera battery charger.  So I used a camera that I found in the bottom of a junk draw that is 5 mega pixels and had photos on it from 2006/2007.  The picture of this weeks oil pastel drawing on illustration board is not as awesome as I would have liked.  And because we had family over for Mother's Day I didn't have an opportunity to take it outside with the awesomeness of natural light...

I think I need to treat myself to a lovely new camera...a real fancy one with LOTS of bells and whistles!!  My birthday is coming...

So here is this weeks installment along with an awesome picture I found that made me giggle.

Until next week...

Week 17 : Slacking Off

What?
Everyone does it!  I admit it, I was a huge slacker this week.

My friend gave me these slate tiles and I have been trying to figure out what to do to them.  My idea is to make them into outdoor art that could put in a garden or hung on a fence.  This is my first very WEAK attempt at that.

I promise next week will be something work viewing!

Until next week...

Week 16: It's Still Sunday Somewhere in the World...

This week I was inspired by my friends mother-inlaw's home.  It is so bright and colourful and filled with great pieces of art!  This is me trying to replicate the brightness.

I was working until about 2 minutes ago and when I tried to take a picture of it my camera died... So sorry that there is only one crappy photo and that there isn't a side view, but I might put another shot up tomorrow.

Until next week...which is literally 2 minutes from now!

Week 15 : The Apple of My Eye

I had my first craft show of the season this past Saturday at Blooming Earth Eco Fair in Kitchener.

It got rained out, but the organizers moved us inside city hall, so it was pretty cool.  There was some pretty amazing crafts there.  I'm always so amazed with creative people and the beautiful things they create!

My favourite part of the day was when this band played
 called The Tra La Las
You can also find them on Facebook too!  You should check them out!  Super fun!

This week is dedicated to my first born.  He turned 17 on the 1st of April.  Seventeen years ago I met one of the most awesome people I know, except he was a little less awesome back then, all he did was demand stuff and go number 1 and 2 in his pants.

He did the graffiti in the background and I did a painting of him doing so...  I think it turned out ok.  I think I want to do another one of him though, because I can't see his gorgeous baby blues in this one.

Anyway...here is is
Hope you like it!

Until next week...

Week 14 : Alienating My Only Paying Customer

Tried this drawing/painting/sketch 3 times, for a friend.  They say the 3rd times the charm, but THEY are filthy no good liars!

This is what I called it quits with, the best attempt
out of the 3...
Sorry friend, I really did try!

My thinking is that I don't work well under pressure.  I don't know though.  It really bums me out when I don't get it perfect.  I should be getting better by week 14...

ah well, whatever right?  Don't be so hard on my self, blah blah blah...
Sometimes it's hard!

Only 38 more weeks to go!  Posting this Wednesday for sure!  Going to be a wicked artist! hahaha

Until next week...

Week 13 : Ever Wonder What Over 100 Rosettes Look Like?

Yeah, me neither.
But here it is nonetheless!

I promise that next week I will have something worth viewing.

Until next week...
