Week 52 : the end

I finished!

I thought I'd have more to say and I'm sure I do, but right now I'm too busy trying to figure out what I'm going to do with all the time I'll have.

I haven't managed to put all the canvases together yet...need to do that quickly if i want it at the next Innovation Park show!

Here are the 6 canvases I finished this week...1 of them is my all time favourite out of the total 81 I painted!

And this is the finished product only when I assemble it there will be about a half inch gap between each square

This is me having a little fun...

So what am I looking forward to in 2012?
Uhmmm
Sweating my butt off...literally,

painting,

Wes Anderson's new film,

making an etsy shop, (with a new shop name!)

and spending time with my boys!

Thank you so much for sticking with me throughout this past year!
Hope you enjoyed it!
I did!

Until next time...

Week 51 : Trying to Keep my Chin Up

Sometimes life can really kick you in the arse.  Usually I'm  pretty optimistic, but this week nothing could lift my spirits.  If anything it felt like the universe was putting me in my place...
It's just hard to stay positive all the time.

anyway I managed to paint 4 squares this week and I've already started my last 6...

I finally found a Star Wars print I could use on this old sleeping bag that I bought used, for Luther about 10 years ago.  I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.  I can't believe how close I am to finally finishing this piece!

I also took Seamus to see my bestest gal pal Heather, at her new dog salon, just opened on the 3rd of January!  She did such a good job!  Seamus smelt so nice and he looked so clean and shiny after his day at the Spaw!  Hope ya'll go see her for all your doggy needs!

Week 50 : The Sun is Shining...

...and I've finished this week's 5 squares!

Usually it's dark outside and my family is in bed by the time I'm ready to post.

Today I'll have some free time!  What ever shall I do?

Maybe I'll spend some of it googling this artist, Monica Cook, who I found the other day and was mesmerized!  I love the naughtiness of her paintings and her animation is disturbing in all the right ways.  Hope you enjoy as much as I do!

just such an incredable talent...

This video is so creepy...

Until next week...

Week 49 : Vintage Smut & 6 Squares

I FINISHED 6 SQUARES THIS WEEK!!

And not a flower in sight...

I also bought the last of my canvases this week thanks to my brother and his lovely lady.

I didn't think that I had many left to do, but seeing all the blank canvases stacked up is a little daunting...

I stopped by Antique Alley on Ottawa St. today after shopping for buttons and found a ton of new stuff including their clearance section.  Hidden in a dark and dusty corner were these little gems.

These old nude photos are mounted on board, but it's yucky and I want to remove them, but the glue is strong and I can't...any suggestions?  I might just cut off the excess and the frame them.  Oh and I only paid $1.00 a piece!  So awesome!

Also found these old magazines, with some really insightful articles inside.  Your Choice included the piece entitled, "Rape Me, Darling!"  It explains how some women want to be dragged off and raped...too funny and true(just joking).  Also only a buck!

3 weeks to go...can't believe it!  So excited!!

Until next week...

Week 48 : Chaos & Calm

This time of year is always very busy for me.  I love the bustle mostly but this year was something else entirely.  I had to wait until the Friday before Christmas to do the majority of my shopping, which meant I had to wrap all the gifts in two days.  Plus I baked a bazillion and a half asiagio and black pepper shortbread cookies for co-workers, friends and family...SUPER BUSY!

Christmas was fun though and the boys loved everything Santa brought them.

We also thought a lot about Miles, who is so sadly missed.  He turned 13 on the 25th.  It's so hard to believe we exist without him and that he has been gone for 5 years...

We did a really low key dinner and visited more family this Wednesday.  I'm reminded that I really do have a big family when we all get together like that.  Such a large group and still there were some faces missing...

I also got a belated birthday gift from one of my best gal pals.  Julie inspires me so much even if she doesn't believe it.  I really LOVE her style.  Her paintings are so playful, colourful, big and completely amazing.

Can you believe that she thought I might not like this?!  I love her and her modesty.  Soooo talented!  Can't wait to get started on her belated birthday gift...hehehe

Then last night we had an impromptu get together with friends.  Julian and his partner in crime, Matthew, managed to stay up until midnight and helped us with the countdown!  I was so glad that we decided to go...

So in all the holiday chaos I managed to get 5 squares done in 2 weeks!  Yikes!  Better get my butt in gear!  I also had some ides offered up about how to display, but I still don't know what to do...

Oh ya and I'm looking for some vintage Star wars fabric...does anyone have some?

Well I better skedaddle...we are on our way to Tillsonburg to do the last of our holiday visiting.
Hope you are well!  Happy New Year!!

Until next week...
